BlogHer Parties are the force that can’t be ignored. It’s probably one of the unique feature in BlogHer conference. This is where various group of bloggers hosted parties with BlogHer to allow a more relaxing environment for bloggers and attendees to connect and network in a less intimidating environment. And one of the party for this year in BlogHer 2010 is the first-ever Latina Theme party – Social Fiesta. We are catching up with Melanie from Modern Mami one of the host for this party. Let’s hear it from Melanie.
So for a BlogHer virgin who plans to attend BlogHer conference for the first time, can you please explain what exactly is BlogHer party and who is it for?
BlogHer parties are fun events hosted by various bloggers. Each party is a little different, but most have drinks, food, and entertainment – some even offer prizes. They’re for everyone – new and veteran BlogHer attendees and are a great way to have fun in the evenings after the sessions.
There seems to be so many BlogHer party available, how do you go about finding it and attending it?
Each party’s host normally publishes a blog post with full details on the party and how to RSVP so you can attend. You can also search on twitter for #blogher or #blogher10 and look for mentions of parties to find the links.

What is the purpose of these party? Who will benefit from attending?
The parties are a great way to hang out with other attendees outside of the main conference sessions. They are fun and you can usually meet a lot of great people. So, in essence, they’re a great way to network, but by having a lot more fun! Everyone can benefit from attending.
You are co-hosting one of the party yourself, can you please tell us more about your party?
Yes, I’m so excited to be co-hosting the first-ever Latino themed BlogHer party. Our Social Fiesta will be kicking off BlogHer and is hosted by some wonderful Latina ladies (including yours truly) and the BlogHer organization.
If you’ll be attending the BlogHer conference this year, then come join us as we celebrate Latinas and Hispanic culture at the Social Fiesta at BlogHer ‘10 on Thursday night. We’ll have plenty of food and drinks, and of course, lots of dancing! What better way could there be to kick off BlogHer ‘10?
